Jessica Hall
Jessica Hall
1st violin

Jessica began learning the violin at the age of five. She joined St Mary's specialist music school at the age of 10 and studied with Claire Docherty there until taking up her place at The Royal Northern College of Music in 2008. Jessica has had much orchestral experience, leading The St Mary's String Orchestra and Ensemble. She was also a member of the National Youth Orchestra in 2005 and 2006.

Jessica has always had a keen interest in chamber music and played in the prestigious RNCM Chamber Music Festival in both 2005 and 2006. To add to Jessica's many achievements, she was a finalist in the St Mary's Director's Recital and also in the prestigious Edinburgh Concerto Competition. She is currently studying with Jan Repko in her second year at The Royal Northern College of Music.

Harriet Carr
Harriet Carr
2nd violin

Harriet began learning the violin at the age of eight. She was a music scholar at Eltham College from 2006 – 2008 where she was awarded their esteemed Strings Prize. Harriet was also a member of The Bromley Youth music Trust where she led both their Chamber and Symphony Orchestras from 2007 – 2008. As a result, she has performed at many prestigious concert halls including The Royal Festival Hall and The Barbican. Harriet has travelled on European tours with Bromley Youth Chamber Orchestra, including a tour to Slovenia and Croatia as leader in 2008. In 2008 Harriet was one of nine finalists in the prestigious Norman Trotman Competition.

Harriet has always been an active chamber musician and in 2008 performed at the Barbican for their weekend of chamber music exploring works by Judith Weir; "Telling The Tale". With her London based string quartet, Harriet performed twice for the National Teacher's Award Ceremony at the White House, London (2006 and 2007). Harriet is currently studying with Jia Zhang in her second year at The Royal Northern college of Music.

Amy Stewart

Viola

Amy began her studies on the Violin in 1998 at London's Centre for Young Musicians (CYM) and in 2003 she started Viola lessons with Lori Noriss. From here a career as a Viola player took off, joining the highly acclaimed London School's Symphony Orchestra in 2006 (Principal Viola 2007-8). Through the LSSO and CYM, Amy has had opportunities to play in Venues throughout Europe and the UK, including The Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Hall, Symphony Hall and the Purcell Rooms. She is passionate about chamber music, playing in her first string quartet at the age of 9. From there she has played in various string quartets, quintets and piano trios and has played chamber music in the National Festival of Music for Youth.

Amy gained a place at the Royal Northern College of Music in 2008 and is currently in her second year studying with Asdis Valdimarsdottir.

Philip Collingham
Philip Collingham
Cello

Phillip started playing the Piano when he was 4 years old (1994) and the Cello when he was 7. He attended Junior Guildhall from 1997 to 2008 which gave him opportunities to play in venues such as St John's Smith Square, Snape Maltings and The Barbican.

In 2003 Phillip joined Pro Corda and the National Youth Strings Academy. Conducted by Sir Neville Mariner in NYSA in 2005 and 2007, he also went on tours to San Francisco in 2006 and Italy in 2007 whereby he played to Lady Walton.

Solo work and competitions include playing in St Martins in the Field (2005), Cardiff Millennium Centre foyer (2008), playing to Vladimir Ashkenazy (2007), 3rd place in the Lutine Prize and Junior Guildhall (2007) and competing in the Barbirolli Cello Competition in 2009 and Sevenoaks Young Musician of the Year (2010). Phillip won a scholarship to the Royal Northern College of Music in 2007 and now studies with Hannah Roberts.
